Guest Speaker: Tom Duffield.

We had the pleasure of having one of our own alumni, Thomas Duffield speaking about his practice with us. Thomas is based in London and the North of England.

Thomas walked us through his first project, The Whole House is Shaking (2017), and explained how the project came about. The projects focuses on his family and childhood, with reference to his his fathers absent role and his fathers drug addiction.

His latest project, ‘Just couldn’t get the shoes to fit’ (2019), Thomas can be seen photographing and interacting with his grandfather in a playful manner. Most of his work is informed by work that he has seen or been inspired by, along with writing and real life events that influences what he creates.
